Warm weather has finally arrived, and plants are growing (and getting propagated).

2011 availability

New items are posted here first, descriptions in the catalog list come later.

As we are a tiny nursery and availability is governed by weather, plant predators and prior selection, we thank you for your patience in these matters and remind our customers that including a list of alternate selections with your order nets you a bonus plant or bonus credit should we need to substitute.

Vanilla Beans
I do a lot of cooking; and a lot of  infusing, steeping, and concocting.  Vanilla beans, and homemade vanilla extract, are a big part of that.  About twice a year I splurge on bundles of fresh, plump, fragrant vanilla beans.  I make vanilla extract (individual bean and blended), vanilla sugar, infuse vanilla for liqueur, put beans in the coffee---you can too:  view the recipes page for directions.
  • Bourbon:  has a wine-like top note, and raisin-y mid notes. Rich and aromatic. On the tongue: shouts "Cookies!"; would be good for making extract.
  • Tahitian: Fruity, almost grapelike notes. Highly aromatic, intensely floral taste. Dark and luscious.
All beans $2.00 each, plus first class postage (as they can go in bubble envelopes).
