Floral
Florals are amongst the most beloved soap scents, ranging from roses and lilacs to hyacinths, gardenia and lavender flowers.
We use the real thing when we can get it--our own roses for example go into the Damask rose soap, and sweet lavender oil distilled from the flowers only--to match the flowers we infuse in the oils for the soap.
Herbal
Herbal scents include the briskness of rosemary, the honey-warmth of lavender, and the bracing mints & spicy thymes. Refreshing, fresh and clean, these are scents for both men and women.
Green
For us the green scent family has to start with the tree scents--conifers provide some of the richest, brightest, cleanest and most uplifting fragrances we know. From there we range to the sweet juicy scent of sweet grass, the tart, spicy green of limes and the aromatic greens of tea, mint and eucalyptus.
Spices & Resins
Spices & resins add a warmth and gounding note, cheering and often invigorating--men and women both gravitate to these scents, especially in the winter.
Citrus
Citrusy scents are bright & with refreshing zing, whether from 10-fold orange essential oil or the mysteriously herbal note lemongrass lends. In the winter here when it can be gray most of the time, a lemony soap is like sunshine in the shower.
Northwest
These soaps are made from local ingredients to reflect the sights & scents of our North Idaho environs.
Here in tree country, we love woodsy fragrances as much as floral ones, especially the likes of Balsam Poplar and fir, and the warm sunny scent of Sweet Grass, all of which have ancient human associations.
Specialty
Our specialty soaps include our salt (spa) soaps, shampoo bars, unscented soaps & other uncommon types.
Sea-salt soaps produce a light, lotion-like lather; the sea salt reduces foaming and makes the water silky. They are smooth like a tumbled stone once wet, and very long lasting. With salt soaps, you can have a spa day every day!
Shampoo bars are ultra rich in conditioning oils for thick fluffy lather that does not dry hair out. They clean well and are also a super body wash for those of us who love bubbles; plus there is no liquid to leak in your luggage, and they eliminate the need for a separate conditioner.
Private Reserve
Private Reserve bars are from our 'personal stash' recipes, featuring Absolutes, Concretes, floral waxes, special oils and butters, and other exotic, wish-list ingredients.
These soaps cost a bit more, but the heady complex fragrances of the true flowers & botanicals plus the superb quality of these special formulas make them extravagantly worthwhile; it's your birthday soon, isn't it?
